SILVIA SCHMITT

Silvia Schmitt, also known as Topenga, is a contemporary artist from Friedberg (Hesse). Even as a child she discovers her passion for figurative drawing with coloured and graphite pencils. Inspired by various artists she develops the ambition to draw people photorealistically in 2014. Fascinated by the challenge, she often works up to 20 hours a day to improve her technique.

Silvia particularly loves depicting people. In the past, she has spent a lot of time creating portraits and is especially inspired by people with an extraordinary charisma. She loves "character faces", faces that tell a story and attract attention. Her aim is to capture the soul and beauty of each individual and to convey her feelings to other artists and art lovers.

Silvia's work is characterised by a great love of detail and focuses primarily on motifs from the world of film and television. The artist's labour-intensive commitment has been honoured several times, including with the American Art Award.
